City & Architecture

Everywhere we go we are surrounded by some sort of architecture! It is such a widespread field and such a thrilling one!

Casa Batlló is a famous building located in the center of Barcelona and is one of Antoni Gaudí’s masterpieces.

La Sagrada Familia, Barcelona
La Sagrada Familia is one of Gaudi's most famous works in Barcelona. It's a giant Basilica that has been under construction since 1882 (that's not a typing error) and it's not expected to be completed for some time yet. It is a truly magnificent building and not matter how many architectural sites you have visited, nothing can compare to this.

Reflection, Barcelona
Straying through Barcelona I discovered this building with awesome reflections.
Red Cabin, Barcelona
The Port Vell Aerial Tramway is a cable car in Barcelona. It crosses Port Vell, Barcelona's old harbor, connecting the Montjuïc hill with the seaside suburb of Barcelona. The tramway first opened in 1931 and offers an excellent view of the city and its port.
Mirrored Barcelona
Mirrored Barcelona
I love reflections and this one can be found at the Plaza de España (Plaça d'Espanya in Catalan) which is one of Barcelona’s most important squares. It was built for the 1929 International Exhibition. The monumental fountain at the center of the square was designed by Josep Maria Jujol, a collaborator of Antoni Gaudí. It has three large columns and several sculptural groups done by the artist Miquel Blay.
Faro de la Entallada, Fuerteventura
Faro de la Entallada is an active lighthouse on the Canary Island of Fuerteventura. It is located on the east coast, near the village of Las Playitas on high cliffs at a height of 196 m. Its light can be seen for 21 nautical miles, and consists of three flashes of white light every eighteen seconds. On the seaward face the lighthouse has three square towers. The tallest central tower supports the lantern dome, which is made entirely of glass. The lighthouse was constructed by the architect Carlos Alcon and was completed in 1955.

Bones Exhibition, Madrid
Danh Vo (Vietnam, 1975) is an admired artist. His work is so original that it puzzles observers. He is loved by art critics and each of his exhibitions produces fascination. At the Palacio de Cristal, located at the Parque del Retiro, Madrid, he presented his installation “Banish the faceless/Reward your Grace”. This exhibition included a set of apparently unrelated objects for example a large number of mammoth fossils and an ivory Christ.

Castillo de San Gabriel, Lanzarote
The Castillo de San Gabriel (Castle of Saint Gabriel) is located on a tiny island called Islote de los Ingleses (Islet of the English), which can be reached by two causeways, one for traffic and one for pedestrians. On foot, you pass over the Puente de las Bolas (Ball Bridge), a small drawbridge with two cannonballs on top of its pillars.

Picturesque Garachico, Tenerife
Garachico is a picturesque village on the northern coast of Tenerife. It nestles below a 500 m (1500 ft) cliff. The coastline is essentially volcanic debris and this gives the town its charm. There exist some natural rock pools, however, outside, the Atlantic swell makes swimming inadvisable for all but the very brave.

It has a height of 78.4 meters with three crosses of suspenders and no horizontal division. In the upper part there is a large volume of prismatic rectangular and polygonal extensions on the long sides, which houses a restaurant and the station of the cabins.
